After Romney selected a leading climate change denier for his running mate and proposed a controversial plan for mass layoffs in renewable energy while continuing massive subsidies for coal, oil and other fossil fuels -- a new study suggests the GOP ticket may be out of step with shifting public opinion.
New research has found that 3 out of 4 Americans believe that the U.S. needs “to start focusing more” on clean-energy sources like wind and solar as the country faces its most widespread drought since 1956.
The concern is shared by 61% of Republicans, 84% of Democrats and 80% of independents according to the non-partisan Civil Society Institute.
